I hope that you will all be returning to our Scout routine.  We will start meetings at 6:00 pm for the Cub Scouts (Tigers, Wolves, and Bears) at the 1^st Presbyterian Church, and at 7:00 pm for the Webelos at the church.  We will be meeting every week and then the Pack Meeting will be at the end of each month, typically on the last Tuesday of each month.   Please note that the items bolded are changes from last year; we will not meet in the high school anymore or no more Pack Meetings on the last Thursdays anymore. 

Here are some things that will be coming down the road here:

1)       Thanks to everyone who participated in the Union Day parade and the Block Party parade on Saturday.  Once again, Pack 90 represented the town of Marathon in true fashion.  Thanks again to all the parents and scouts who participated.  Once again, our Scouts took 1^st place in Group Walking.  Way to go!

2)       Popcorn sales:  It’s that time of year again, we will be conducting our fall popcorn sale.  I will be handing out the order forms and materials on Tuesday, September 15.  It is encouraged that everyone participate, and there looks like there will be some COOL prizes given out for those who sell this year.  I will put the dates of the sale together and let everyone know at the meeting.

3)       On September 22^nd, the Webelos will be joining the Boy Scout Troop 90 for their Court of Honor.  This is a ceremony that the Boy Scouts conduct to get awards and to recognize boys who accomplish their requirements in the Troop.  This will be a dish to pass, and it starts at 7:00pm at the church.  This is a normal Tuesday meeting for the Webelos, and it will count towards their Arrow of Light requirements.

4)       The Appleby Elementary School Open House will be held on Thursday, September 24 at 7:30.  We will be setting up a recruiting table at the front entrance again.  I would like it if all our scouts wore their shirts that night and if they have friends that are not in Scouting that are interested, that night would be a perfect opportunity to sign up. 

5)       Cub Adventure Weekend:  The Fall Cub Adventure weekend is approaching fast.  I will have flyers available on Tuesday for this event, and we will need to register everyone by Tuesday, September 29^th.  Cub Adventure weekend will take place at Camp Barton on October 3-4.  Please let me know if you are interested.  Once again, your scout CAN spend the night there, but is not required to.

***  We are also looking for a Webelos I leader, so any volunteers would be greatly appreciated.

The Webelos will be working hard the next couple of months on Outdoorsman, Readyman, and finishing up their Arrow of Light requirements.  The best way for your Scout to ensure that he receives his Arrow is to show up to the meetings.  If for some reason they cannot make a meeting, please call me so we can make arrangements to make up what he has missed.  My goal is to have 100% of our Webelos get their Arrow of Light!!! 

For the Tigers, Wolves, and Bears, please make sure you have your den leaders phone number to find out what you may have missed if your Scout doesn’t make it to a meeting.
